day 2

1 mei 2017 - Altea, Spanje

Hola a todos,

This morning I woke up at 8:00. My plan was to do some groceries, however this plan failed. All the shops were closed today because today is Labour Day. This ment that I was not able to eat or drink anything other then water, so I decided to spend my morning walking to the nearest Mc Donalds (which was 3 km away). When I finally saw the big yellow M protruding above all buildings, I realized that I was standing next to a Dutch supermarket WHICH WAS OPEN! 15 minutes later I walked back to my house while I was eating Haribo's bananas, with my backpack full of drinks and bag full of food.

After that, I went to Altea's harbor together with my grandpa. Grandpa you ask? Yes, my grandpa. My grandpa passed away last year and for his funeral we (all the grandchildren) bought a candle and a garden gnome. I brought my garden gnome with me to spain because my grandpa and grandma used to come to Benidorm a lot (which is the city next to Altea). Personally, I'm not a big fan of boats (actually I hate them) so after 30 minutes of walking through the harbor, I started to walk to the rightmost part of Altea. It was not that special, just 2 bridges and something that looked like a river. Therefore I started to walk back to my house to give my feet some rest. I was becomming a bit sick of the sea (yes already) so I walked through the village. At a certain point, I didn't even know if I was walking towards my house, the beach or back to the bridges. But I saw this big blue roof in the distance so I basically tried to get there by following my instinct. It turned out to be an old church in the middle of a square full of people. I googled it later and the curch was one of the most famous sights of Altea.

Thanks to Google maps, I found my way back to the house. I came across a lot of beautiful streets and views, but my legs were really tired and I was glad to be able to relax a little. So I took a bath. My parents know very well how much I love to take a bath :) After that I watched an episode of Legend Of The Blue Sea, which is a Korean drama serie about a mermaid coming to the human world and erasing people's memories. When I felt hungry again, I made myself a dinner consisting out of bread and knakworstjes and it was delicious :). Now I am making this blog and I am planning to spent this evening watching some more episodes, so that I have enough energy to go to work tomorrow.

I will put all my pictures in the "foto's" area, so if you are interested, go check them out!

Hasta mañana.
