Day 15

19 juli 2018 - Kyoto, Japan

HeLLo,

Today was not really blog-worthy to be honest. It was 39 degrees and it was wayy to hot to be doing something.  The only thing we got to see from Kyoto was it's aquarium. We went there this morning and we did not expect much of it, because it looked really small from the outside, however it turned out to be pretty big. The aquarium was devided into 12 departments and each department had their own category of sea animals. First there were weird salamander-looking animals, which my dad found very interesting. I mostly found them ugly. BUT then there was the seal department and seals are so cute! Their tanks were very interesting, you could look at them from almost every angle and there was even a vertical tube in which the seals could swim and that was pretty cool. I don't remember the exact categories anymore, but there were a lot of clownfishes, sharks, jellyfishes and crustaceans. We also wanted to see the dolphin show, however we had to wait for more than an hour and we did not really feel like doing that, so we did not see the show. At the end of the route was a playground for kids in which you could also win some prices by drawing a lot from the bulb, which I did, and I won a fluffy stuffed dolphin, which I named Bubbles :). My dad made all the pictures from the aquarium and I will be adding some of them to the gallery.

After our trip to the aquarium, we were soaking wet from sweat and we held a little siesta again. After an hour of lying on bed, we decided to walk to the mall near the hotel, which is where we spent the rest of the afternoon. After that we went back to our hotel, only to decide to go to another mall again. We spent another hour or so walking around the mall and then we ate dinner at McDonald's :)

And that was kind of everything we did today. I think it is a shame that I am not able to see much of Kyoto because of the weather, however I am still enjoying my time shopping :).

Tomorrow we are going on a tour with a Dutch guide through Kyoto and I hope that I will survive.

Good night and see you tomorrow! (hopefully ;))
