Day 9 & 10

14 juli 2018 - Naoshima Island, Japan

IT IS ALREADY DAY NINE WHAT?

Time is moving so fast! But yesterday morning (and this morning only) this was a good thing. As I told you last time, Shirakawago has lots of insects because it is located in the middle of the woods. We were on our way to the busstop when we looked up at the sky and saw SO MANY fireflies! They had covered the whole sky and everywhere we looked we saw them. So I kind of took a sprint to the bus station and waited inside for our bus to come :)

We took the bus to Kanazawa, which turned out be a very big and crowded city. Our hotel was very luxurious and it had a great view over the city. We wanted to find a nice restaurant so we walked through the underground shopping street. We did not find any food that we recognized so we went to look on the street. Suddenly we ended up in a fishmarket, which looked very interesting, however it was closed. We looked for a McDonalds but we could not find it. We were starting to give up hope but then we discovered that there was a café nearby, which we had already been to 3 times before, and decided to go there. I had spaghetti with shrimps for dinner and it was absolutely amazing!

We could not see very much of Kanazawa, because this morning we had to leave early. We took a train to Osaka, which took almost 3 hours, than we took the bullet train to Okayama, and my dad was expecting it to be very awesome because bullet trains go more than 200 km per hour. However this train had to stop at every station so we did not get the chance to experience the high speed. My dad was very disappointed...

Anyways, after that we had to take another train to Chayamachi which lead us to Uno. There we had to get on a Ferry to get to Naoshima and from Naoshima port we had to take the bus to get to our Minshuku. All together, the traveling we did today took more than 8 hours, which is why I am not suprised that I am very tired right now.

Besides all the traveling, nothing really happened today, so I guess I am going to leave it here.

See you tomorrow!
