Day 4

8 juli 2018 - Shimoyoshida, Japan

Hi everyone!

I hope you enjoyed my Special Edition yesterday, I'm thinking about making another one today if I have the time.

This morning I woke, all sore from practically sleeping on the ground, and we went downstairs for breakfast. I had some fruit and 3 small bread buns with strawberry jelly and you won't believe what they had: an actual knife with.. wait for it.. A SHARP SIDE! They do exist in Japan! When we were almost done eating, a maid was cleaning up the table next to us, and as soon as she saw us, she started smiling. I forgot to tell you a story yesterday about our dinner, so here goes:

When we were eating dinner in the restaurant of the hotel, we were eating with chopsticks. I am very good at eating with them, however my dad was having some difficulties using the chopstick to cut his meat in smaller pieces. So, me being the kind daughter as I am, decided to help him out a little. This was more difficult than I thought and before I knew it, a piece of meat was flying (literally flying) in the air and it landed on the ground, like, 2 meters away from our table. And guess who saw that happening? Right, the maid! So this morning, she saw us and got all giggly again. :)

I also have some good news: I am able to connect my camera with my mobile phone, so I am probably able to add the pictures on my blog :)

Anyways, what we did after breakfast was very exhausting. We took a train to Shimoyoshida and started walking to Arakurayama Sengen park. This is the park in which people take the famous Mount Fuji pictures with the Fuji Sengen Shrine on the foreground. It wasn't very easy to get there though, we had to climb for at least 30 stairsteps to get to the gate and another 398 stairsteps to get to the Shrine. Then we had to climb another 30 or so stairsteps to get to the viewpoint to take our picture. We were barely alive when we reached the top, but the view was absolutely worth it!

After that we had a drink in a café and we took the train back to Kawaguchiko to go back to our hotel. On our way back from the station to the hotel, we came across a shopping district and decided to walk back to it from our hotel. This took us almost 2 hours and now were are very tired, so I do not think we will be doing any more activities today.

Tonight we are going to eat dinner at the hotel again, which is very exciting because the food here is very traditional. Yesterday we had all kinds of small meals and I do not even know what it was, I only recognized some tuna, beef and soup. The rest was all a mystery to us, but it was a very nice experience. Tonight we are having another traditional menu so I am very curious to how it tastes.
